Working for BESIX Watpac, Outside Ideas delivered architectural concrete and paving to an existing structural slab at Wurriki Nyal, the new Geelong civic precinct.
Wurriki Nyal was officially opened in October 2022with a Wadawurrung Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony. This first stage of the precinct masterplan brings together the City of Greater Geelong Council departments into a single, collaborative workplace providing A-Grade office space for 850 full-time workers in central Geelong.
The package delivered by Outside Ideas included a significant formwork component to create raised planter boxes and steps. The scope also included custom timber street furniture affixed to the in situ concrete walls. Work began on site in March 2022 and was completed in September 2022.
