The CityLife Church building was completed by Figurehead Construction in August 2017. Landscape Plus was awarded the landscaping and civil package to complete the new worship centre, which needed to be undertaken over 4.5 months in mid-late 2017.

This project was completed throughout some of the wetter months of the year, which made compaction during the excavation stage quite difficult. Following excavation, Landscape Plus installed structural tree pits beneath the new asphalt carpark and precast permeable paving that enabled rainwater to drain into the tree pits. Alongside the asphalt carpark and paving, large stripes of dark and light concrete were installed directly next to one another, which proved a challenge to which the concreting team rose.

Exposed aggregate concrete was installed around the building in the entranceway with control joints throughout to avoid movement of the subgrade. The team also installed the concrete kerbing, garden beds, bollards and timber street furniture to complete the community space.
