The Reserve apartments at Sandringham by the beach was the first job that Landscape Plus completed for Tier 2 builder Buxton Construction. Over 10 weeks in 2018, Landscape Plus delivered all the landscaping, civil works and concreting for this project, encompassing almost every item external to the apartment buildings (except for the blockwork and fencing which were completed by another contractor).

The team completed the excavation and poured the roadways and footpaths at a very wet time of the year, a seasonal challenge which the earthworks and concreting crews were proud to overcome. Landscape Plus installed all asphalt, kerbing, carparks and exposed aggregate pathways (supplied by Mentone Premix) to form the grounds of the apartment complex. The Reserve site was a busy one and the Landscape Plus teams were required to navigate the movements of several other trades who were also busy at work the external part of this site, including plumbers and electricians.

The scope of work also included small courtyards that were attached to every ground floor dwelling in the complex. Each courtyard contained natural stone paving and planting. Extensive planting was also installed in the grand entryway to the complex. The team also carted soil to fill the planter boxes on Level 2 of The Reserve and installed an advanced palm tree in the centre of the main driveway.

The client placed great importance on the success of the landscaping component of their project and worked closely with Landscape Plus throughout the planting phase in particular. The Landscape Plus maintenance team tended to the Reserve gardens throughout the year following installation, and at handover the plants had established beautifully.
